Angela Duckworth defines grit as the combination of passion and perseverance.

I was recently reminded while listening to my friend, Cathy Heller’s, podcast about Duckworth’s work which shows that what really creates grit is optimism.

Talent will only get you so far- you have to have the grit and resilience to keep going when things get really tough- and that’s where optimism is essential.

Nick Howard, is the embodiment of grit and optimism. You can hear it in his music and you feel it in every conversation with him.

Nick is a British/American singer-songwriter who has played shows around the world, toured with the likes of Train, Gavin DeGraw, Lifehouse, and many many more. He’s released 6 albums and seen his music top the charts in multiple continents. He even learned German in just two months to go on and win The Voice of Germany in 2012.

And as the ultimate go-getter that he is, he, along with his wife, also founded Bookable, a platform that allows fans and brands to discover and book artists for boutique concerts and private events.
